GTD #37: The Wonder Of You
Busy as bee in the real world. A solid run of training sessions throughout the month, poorly balanced with a relentless parade of events and parties. Burnt out is an understatement. In the end, it looks like my Texas era is coming to a close for the best reason of all: family.
I've spent nearly a decade in this state, and what do I have to show for it? Not much, I guess. Dear reader, I've spent most of it stoned and in isolation, so while I didn't necessarily grow socially, I grew in spirit. I figured out who I want to be, even if I'm not totally sure what the jobs I'll be getting the paychecks from will look like. I've come to understand that even though I love the nature, it's swamp ass oven hot here, and the people I've come to love aren't even remotely close. I've built this little blog from the manic ramblings of a stoner into the globally accessible manic ramblings of a stoner. I've found faith, found kindred spirits, and found that there's more to life than what I can consume on a screen. That's worth more than its weight on gold.

Coming Soon: The Sendō App on iOS!
The vision for Sendō Worldwide is far beyond the blog of a low-level corporate stooge, it's a worldwide mission to transform myself and others for the better.
For the past few months, I've been developing the Sendō (iOS) - a training companion designed to help you become stronger, healthier, and more consistent.
If you want to meditate, practice yoga, perform guided breathing exercises, lift weights and track your progress over time, Sendō brings everything together in one place. You'll also be able to earn milestones and share the lifelong record of your journey.
It's still in development, but every chapter of this series and every minute of training is helping shape it into the app I always wished existed. If that sounds like something you'd enjoy, stay tuned.
Support the future of what we're building here by subscribing to get an email when the app is released and new posts drop. If you're interested in being a beta tester of the app, email me.
Back to Go The Distance (GTD)!

Unedited ramblings, typically after a run.
Please feel free to skip to the end.

New month, first yoga session. 20 minutes, so it ain't much to be happy about. Let's see...being off from work has been good, but I haven't had much downtime, so I actually have less free time than before? But it's funny - there's this old saying that when the student is ready, the master appears. And I've been training with the most important master of my life. This one is teaching me how to manage my schedule, manage my energy, wake up consistently and early, save money, stop being lazy, on and on. I wish I had the discipline to summon all of these good things out of myself, but the universe has rewarded me with a teacher that forces all of the goodness into me and out of me. It's exhausting being good! Maybe that's why I was never good at it...
Anyway, so even though there's more travel this month, I've got my serious training watch back on and I'm pushing for 15 yoga sessions, as many as I can tolerate over 30 minutes, and at least 10 weightlifting sessions. Really 12 I think is a good number to aim for.
App-wise, we're looking really good. Every major functionality I wanted in the app is there, except for a profile-sharing ability I'm going to work on later. You can do breathing exercises, meditation, strength training and yoga asanas, plus see long term data and passively unlock milestones as you use the app. Everything is on the app, no internet connection required or needed, no account or no log-in. I wanted to build a tool that's as reliable as say, a beloved power drill. It just works. I'd be pissed if I had to log in to use a screwdriver! That was the type of thinking behind making this as useable and non-internet required as possible.
